While pregnancy yoga is often mainly focused on relaxation, in these weekly classes the focus is on consciously moving in order to develop a realistic mind-set with regard to the labor process. We work on maintaining or improving your fitness by using breath and movement together. Exercises are also aimed at making muscles and joints stronger and more flexible.
Learning to trust each other’s strengths, capabilities and skills will help both to let go of control and fear. This will inspire fathers / partners to want to be fully involved in pregnancy and delivery.
A doula is ancient Greek for “woman serving”. You can best describe her as a pregnancy and delivery coach. She is an experienced and knowledgeable woman who supports prospective parents in a non-medical way during pregnancy, the birth of their child and in the period afterwards. She does not deviate from the side of the woman in labor throughout the delivery.
I can then add many help topics that are otherwise not included, such as: (baby) massage / pelvic pain therapy / trauma after a first delivery / other pregnancy-related problems such as a child in breech position – broken membranes without contractions etc./ private yoga class for women and men with specific points of interest.
